It's been a wonderful day, President and Sister Robinson are back in the temple, and got to talk to some grandchildren tonight. Life is great! I have a wonderful husband and children- more blessings than I can count. I pray for those who are fighting health issues, my granddaughter with croup, my sweet Jenna Faith Bishop, my friend Ruth Wright and all those in need a being remembered to Heavenly Father right now.

It's been a wonderful week! 4 glorious days back at the temple! Wonderful patrons and workers. It's such a joy to be of service to the patrons that come each day. Truly when you serve others, your own trials  seem much smaller.  Have talked to daughters this week, got letters from granddaughters! My hubby took me out to dinner tonight! Life is great! We got snow this week but only trace amounts, although I know folks in New Brunswick tell a different story. I know God lives, I know that he answers our prayers. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. I know that we will live again- that this life is basically  a schooling. We come to learn to choose God and to live like Him and His Son.

Friday morning, Feb. 22, 2013-

Thursday was a wonderful day! We got mail from home- with a total of 4 letters from some wonderful granddaughters- thanks Sydney Quick, Claire Quick, Ashlynn and Mallory Simonson. And thanks to my daughters for mailing all the things I had asked for. Love you so very much.

Being back at the temple is so wonderful and its great to be back in my routine.  Some missionaries have completed their missions and will be leaving Atlantic Canada today. We will miss them. May God be with them always, I pray. Of course, when some leave, we also get some new missionaries- and the new batch looks awesome. One thing you learn as a missionary is that humility is not a weakness but a necessary strength for us. We continue to get little snow showers that drop about half an inch of snow, nothing tragic- but I have faith that spring will come soon.

Have a great day one and all.

So very happy that my normal schedule returns when the Halifax Nova Scotia Temple re-opens tomorrow!!! So look forward to workers and patrons- we couldn't do the work that is done there without you. So thankful for our time here in Atlantic Canada- thanks to all for accepting us into your lives and families.

Tonight the Cole Harbor Ward hosted a lovely Valentine's dance. It was wonderful and we had a wonderful turnout. If you missed you missed a great evening. The Bing's and others did a terrific job on the decorations and refreshments. Thanks so very much. I actually got to dance several dances with my wonderful hubby. I will have pictures soon I hope.

Got a real copy of one of the pictures taken that night. Glad I can add it =)

Its the end of a long week, a very long two weeks. I have so missed my usual routine. I look forward to going back to the temple next week. I have gotten some good family research done. Got some deep cleaning done on the apartment, even packed up something to mail home, when we get to the states again. So it's been good. We have had some good times with members and missionaries- so grateful for the wonderful influence that you are in our lives. So thankful for family and friends. Some are going thru great struggles right now, please know that we pray for you always. No snow for several days, I'm sure that will change, because I said something about it!! Grateful for my wonderful valentine, a loving husband- so thankful for all his does to make it possible for us to be here and on this mission. Of course, I thank Heavenly Father for all of the experiences that He has blessed me with, I pray that we are all becoming the people he has sent us here to become.

More winter pictures! the drifting around a tree outside of our apartment. We got about a foot of snow with drifting much higher than that at some places.

L-R: Craig, Bro. Robert Wilhelm, and Elder Dela Cruz- the walkways are done, now they are digging out our cars from the snowfall and the snow moved by the snow plows.

Almost done- there was more snow around the cars than could be seen- guys you did a great job.

Drifting snow outside on our patio.

This one is from our living room window! our car is out there someplace!

This one is taken from another entrance to the apartment complex- our car is the one behind that big tree.

This one is taken from the front entrance to the complex.

In 2003-4 we survived the "Snow Storm of the Century" in Maryland. Now we have experienced a Nor'Easter! All this snow makes me think of Utah and home and family.

Lots of snow enough that Church is cancelled today. Feeling confined after several days in the apartment, no temple, no church. Gosh, we need those things! It's like my life has a hole right now, but I know its just for a moment. Thank goodness for friends and especially for the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Hope that all is well with you- stay safe, and drive with caution only if you must.

Hunkering down and preparing for a real Nor'easter! Our thoughts go to those in Massachusetts and Ontario and others who have already felt the effects of these storms. The combined storm is due in Nova Scotia around 9 pm, we should have way over a foot of new storm by tomorrow morning.  We were just watching the news in Boston, and they said that driving is prohibited there. Brought back memories to us, of driving Lyle down to his Naval Base in 2003 and while  returning home in Maryland we ran into the then "storm of the century" .  We kept hearing the roads where closed, but we had to get back to our home being stranded on the roadside was not an option. The next day, our car was buried under snow. The trip home was filled with prayer, and we were so grateful to arrive "home" safe and sound. Our thoughts go out to all those who will be out in and working thru  these storms, National Guardsman, power repair folks, police and fire, 911 workers, doctors and nurses and all those who get stranded.  Please take care everyone. We pray for you all.

It's been a quiet day, Craig has been under the weather, but seems to be getting over whatever bug he has been fighting. I spent the day at the computer on my genealogy. This evening we got to talk to 2 of our daughters: Amy Edwards Bishop and Jaralynn Quick that always makes for a wonderful time- to visit with family. Sydney  Quick and Claire was great to talk to 2 of our granddaughters also. Sydney we are proud of your grades- keep up the awesome job.

Family is the best thing in the world today. We are so grateful for wonderful children and grandchildren- they brighten our lives. We are thankful for our ancestors who came before us, because of them we have raised our children with wonderful God-given freedoms, especially the freedom of religion. God lives, the family truly can be forever if we follow the Savior.

A very interesting week it has been. Even though we had lots of sickness among temple workers it was a wonderful week. We saw families become eternal family units, what a humbling experience. We heard that the groundhog saw his shadow and today we have felt of his tricks- several inches of snow has fallen today. The temple is closed for 2 weeks for its semi-annual cleaning. How grateful we are for those who come to help with this cleaning, we pray always for you and your service in the House of the Lord. Haven't heard a lot from family this week-certainly hope that that means all is well. Been thinking alot about what it means to stand in holy places and what that does for us- I wrote a poem about this a couple of years ago, and I read this one often:

Stand in Holy Places

Latter-day scriptures teach that for safety in the last days
we must find the “holy places” in our daily lives.
Holy places will refuel our souls as we fight life’s trials.
Holy places guide us as we live in a society that seems to
choose that which is contrary to God’s laws.
A holy place can be found as we choose God’s light
    and live in righteousness.
We find a holy place when we enter the waters of baptism
and take upon us the name of Christ.
Another is found in a chapel where we renew this covenant
and partake of the sacrament in His holy name.
A special holy place is found in a temple where covenants
are made that will lead to eternal life and everlasting joy.
Another is in our home and family where we learn to keep
these covenants and learn to strive for family unity.
Whenever we are gathered as Saints, it becomes a holy
place as we strengthen each other’s faith.
Whenever we serve “one of the least of these” our brethren
or sisters,    we add to the holy places on this earth.
It is imperative that we learn to stand apart from the world
but in our holy places so that we can live with God again.

Charlotte P. Edwards – August 2011

We learned about charity today at church- that it needs to be in our "heart" and that it never faileth- If the part of our "heart" that charity is in is
our soul- it is the only that will go from life through death and to the beyond with us. May charity, the love of God as it is shown to our fellow man, be in our hearts in abundance and may it bless our life and others. Have a great week family and friends.
