I find it very sad that some people consider a gun or rifle higher than they consider God. I hope we will check ourselves on who and what we worship. A gun is not more powerful than God. A gun won't give you the opportunity to eternal life, but it can definitely take that gift away from you. Yes, I support the constitution, yes, I have gun owners in my family- but I don't need or want something that is so opposed to the law of love that Christ has asked us to show to others. You may not agree from me, that is your right.



My dislike of guns has nothing to do with the title of liberty or the cause of freedom. And I would and will always uphold both. I just believe that owning a gun does not necessarily uphold or defend the cause of liberty. Too many people, and a great deal of them not religious, almost worship that gun as an idol. The gun does not guarantee freedom, but living righteously and being an example of Christ commandment to love one another is a better and higher way to defend freedom has been the answer to my prayers. The way that we can be a light that "shineth in the darkness" of today's society is not take lives but instead to reflect and live Christ's higher law. Yes, I love you dearly and believe me, I have no right to say I'm right and you are not and I am not saying that. Peace can never be found by man's laws, but only by living and following Christ's higher law.


I have been reading the B of M, D & C, etc watching, underlining and noting all the scriptures I find that talk about the heart. I've been amazed to see how easy it is to become hard-hearted, which makes us unable to hear or follow Christ's law. Again, I'm not in anyway saying that you are. I'm just saying that it has been a very eye-opening experience as I've seen what the scriptures teach us about the heart. I love you so very much, I love your husband as my son, I am grateful for another son, your brother, that also faithfully served his country. I fully support the title of Liberty and also believe that this land is not living up to God's demands for freedom from tyranny or tragedy.

It is sad to note, but it seems it takes tragedy sometimes to wake us up and make us realize that our life has a purpose, that it does have a plan. We constantly need to be reminded that that we can always be united in the cause of righteousness. We can rise above the evil that abounds in our day. Satan's bounds are already set; Christ has already won the eternal battle for our souls. What's at stake is who's side are we on? Who do you follow? "As for me and my house, we will choose God and His Only Begotten Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ."

Letter to Pres. Leavitt:

Thanks so very much for given us the opportunity to be involved with these missionary musical firesides. They are such spiritually power evenings. We are grateful for the blessing of getting our computer fixed/replaced so that we could continue in our temple responsibilities. God does hear and answer prayers. We have a grandson getting ready to submit his papers for this summer. He also is musically talented, playing piano and organ(has had an opportunity to play on the tabernacle organ for a few minutes) and bells, besides singing.
 Time is going so very fast, we really don't want our mission to end, but know that our family looks forward to our return. And we hope  and pray that there will be more missions in our future. In our Family Home Evening group tonight we discussed what it means to sustain our leaders. That it also means that we have to sustain or (endure faithfully) in our faith and testimony so that we can uphold and be there for our leaders. We need each the prayers of each other to endure the challenges of these last days.
I'm reading conference addresses already and learning so much as I ponder on the message that our leaders shared with us for General Conference.

Thanks for the wonderful talks that you and Sister Leavitt gave last night- Sis. Calvert and Elder Weibe also did such a wonderful job. Our sabbath both in the Cole Harbor Ward and at the fireside were all very spiritually uplifting.

The week is going great. We've had some rain, wind and even some sunshine. I have faith that spring is on its way. I pray for all those near Georgia, Oklahoma, etc. that are dealing with tornadoes and other destructive weather. I pray for the safety of those affected.
Made some seafood chowder for the first time yesterday. Thanks so much to Bill Frank for the help he gave me on how to do this. We like it and shared with our neighbors the Dela Cruz. Today we went to their apartment for spaghetti and it was delicious!
 So nice to have the computer working again! We have received so many blessings while we have been here, both us and our families at home. We are grateful for God's love and support and pray that we always keep his commandments and the covenants we have made.
Starting to re-read conference talks from last week. It was such a wonderful conference and all of the talks taught us so very much. I support  President Thomas S. Monson as a living prophet! I know that we can all be a light in the darkness all around us if we follow Jesus Christ as our Savior and Redeemer.

As stated already, our computed died on Sunday. Craig was up bright and early to continue our search for help with the computer.  The decision was made, upon recommendation of several members that we had talked to, to take the computer to ToadCo Computers.  Initial reports did not look good, but they were willing to see if anything could be salvaged. It turns out that they could put our hard drive into a used computer and we are back up again! Prayers are answered! Even if you can do more than believe and ask with that belief God does hear and answer our prayers. My mustard seed of faith has grown, and I'm so very grateful and humble.

General Conference was such a wonderful faith promoting experience. I'm so grateful that we were able to hear all sessions and I look forward to reading and replaying them often.
