May 4th, 2013- We are so very happy. We get an opportunity to travel back up to Bathurst, New Brunswick. We visited there last August and so wanted an opportunity to visit with this wonderful branch of Saints. We are grateful and overjoyed when we see them come to the temple. This time we are going up with the Halifax Mission Traveling Musicians!!!!!. We have got to participate in a few other of their performances and look forward to 2 days in Bathurst.

Traveling to Bathurst, New Brunswick today. The missionaries are doing a civic program tonight, and also will be in the Sacrament Meeting. 4 1/2 hour drive for us, but forecast is for a lovely day. We have visited this lovely branch of that mostly speak French before and are looking forward to worshiping with them again. May God be with you all till then (home late Sunday).

Something I have noticed throughout Atlantic Canada- as you travel. Lots of trees and then there is a white church built right beside the highway. Different denominations. Usually a graveyard there also. But very unique white churches

Oh yes,  and  there are the frequent signs about the moose- we have yet to see one near the highways-but I'm told be grateful that we haven't encountered one while driving.

Spring has not come to all the trees yet! But it will be soon. But the stark contrast between the lush green evergreen trees and the stark white of the bare trees got me thinking..... What is the condition of our spirits- are they bare and in need of growth or lush and lovely from constant spiritual growth and learning.

On May 5, 2013 The local senior couples gathered at the Mission Home to celebrate Sis. Leavitt's birthday:
Dinner was delicious, somehow our pot luck dinners are always so good. We had fun with the gag gifts that Elder and Sister Tiffany had gathered to present to both President and Sister Leavitt. Turns out that his birthday was the week before. They are both so very awesome and we are grateful for the time we get to spend with them.

Halifax Zone Conference with Elder Walker

April 25th, 2013 was a Halifax zone Conference. Elder Walker from the Temple Department was visiting our Mission. It was a wonderful, choice experience to be able to attend. We had a chance to visit with him also and ask some questions about our temple responsibilities. Elder Walker did such wonderful role plays during the morning session. We learned to work for Real Growth for the church- we are not after numbers, but these people in Atlantic Canada are God's children and we need to help them find their way back to him.  He talked in depth about Alma chapter 8.

So much to catch up on! Life has been very busy. In addition to our temple responsibilities, we have become involved in the Halifax Nova Scotia Mission Musical Firesides that have been started by Pres. Leavitt. One of our senior missionaries, Elder Call, who is so very talented musically, comes to us from BYU-Idaho. He directs all of these programs, which is a big responsibility. We have done a program here at our local chapel on Easter. We have also gone to Truro, Nova Scotia and now last weekend we traveled to Bathurst, New Brunswick. In 2 weeks we will be in Caribou, Maine and Fredrickton, New Brunswick. It has been wonderful to see Craig developing his singing talent in a duet/solo role. I am learning how to take video's on my camera!

I have lots of pictures to add and will start working on that I promise.

Letter to Pres. Leavitt,

Scripture reading 7 days last week
exercise 6 days
temple 4 days

The days are going faster and faster it seems. I'm reading conference talks for most of my scripture study, but I'm doing the Book of Mormon also. Got a chance to talk a little bit about the church today, didn't go farther than that, but I keep trying.
 Trying to focus on a scripture from our Relief Society lesson on Sunday- Psalms 139: 23-24. So very much to learn and improve and grateful to do that. Did something to my left shoulder, its really bugging me tonight, hope that its just weather-related.
Looking forward to the senior get-together on Sunday night. Have been praying for Sister Leavitt and put her name on the prayer roll on Saturday.
Thanks for all you both do for this mission and for the gospel. So grateful to have such wonderful people come into our lives and teach us so many valuable things.

We had sunshine but it's still quite chilly here, but spring is just around the corner. Had a good week at the temple. Craig and I went in on Monday to the temple, to get the new computer up and running for the administrative assistant- that's me! We had lunch today at a wonderful Asian restaurant, the Modern Orchid, the food was delicious. We also went to Halifax today, so that Craig and Sis. Lee could practice their duet from Phantom of the Opera. Stake Conference coming up this weekend, and it looks like Elder Walker, the head of the Temple Department is here in Atlantic Canada and we should see him tomorrow at the temple. He's such an awesome person. We met him in the MTC, last February.
